Over 800 women from throughout the Detroit metro area will participate in the annual Catholic Women's Conference to be held Saturday, October 25, at the Macomb Community College Sports and Expo Center, 14500 E. 12 Mile Road, Warren.
"Empowering Women to Make a Difference in the World" is the theme of the conference. It will mark the 20th anniversary of Mulieris Dignitatem, Pope John Paul II's apostolic letter on the dignity and vocation of women.
"The conference celebrates the gift it is to be a woman in today's world," said Judy Maten, coordinator of the Office of Evangelization and Women's Ministry of the Archdiocese of Detroit. "Walk-ins are welcome as we gather to celebrate, break open the document, and be inspired by women who have answered God's call to love and serve the Lord and each other."
The conference will begin at 8:15 a.m. It will conclude at 3 p.m. with a Mass celebrated by Detroit Auxiliary Bishop Daniel Flores. The cost is $45 per person, including lunch. More information can be found at www.aodwomensministry.org or by calling (313) 268-1985.

- Bishop Daniel Flores, who will speak on "The Gift of God Entrusted to Women."
- Sherron Jenkins, director of Detroit's St. Dominic Outreach Center, whose topic will be "To Love and Serve the Lord."
