Director of Religious Education It is a policy of the Archdiocese of Detroit that every parish has a Director of Religious Education (DRE).
Role of the Director of Religious Education
- Directs the entire parish catechetical/faith formation program
- Gives direction and vision for catechesis in the parish

Plans and holds regular meetings with catechetical staff
- Oversees the formation of catechists in accord with the current Archdiocesan program
- Is a member of the catechetical/faith formation committee of the parish Education Commission
- Works in collaboration with the parish staff (e.g. pastor, school principal, youth minister)
