Responses to House Speaker Pelosi's Misrepresentation of Church Teaching Against Abortion

On NBC's "Meet the Press," broadcast Sunday, August 24, from Denver, CO, the Speaker of the House of Representatives was asked about the Catholic Church's teaching on the sanctity of life. The U.S. Bishops Committee on Pro-Life Activities, along with the archbishops of Denver, San Francisco, and Washington, have issued statements of clarification and correction. Detroit's archbishop, Cardinal Adam Maida, is a consulting member of the USCCB committee.
